Cruise-deal vocabulary
The language of a real cruise deal
Four concepts do most of the work in finding a genuinely good cruise price. Learn them once and every fare you see becomes easier to judge.
Per-day price
One honest axis for every length of cruise.
Fare ÷ nights, per person — comparable across any trip length.
Sister sailings
The cheapest of a set of identical — and near-identical — departures.
Same ship, same itinerary, different dates — often very different prices.
Inversion
When a better cabin costs less than a worse one.
A higher cabin category priced below a lower one on the same ship.
One-of-a-kind itinerary
Rare routes almost no other sailing matches.
Itineraries with few or no close matches on the market.
